Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments per OSHA and AORN standards
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgeries
- Transport patients and specimens safely within the facility
- Document supplies and equipment usage accurately
- Participate in continuing education to maintain skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary
- Completion of accredited surgical tech program preferred (not required)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Pass background check and drug screen
- CPR certification (will be provided if needed)
