Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgeries
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms safely
- Process and sterilize surgical equipment post-procedure
- Document surgical cases accurately in electronic records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of scrub tech experience preferred
- BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- Familiarity with major surgical specialties (ortho, neuro, general)
- Ability to stand for extended periods in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Valid Pennsylvania healthcare worker license
