Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with instrument passing and wound closure
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce safety protocols
- Manage inventory and sterilization of equipment
- Document procedural details in electronic health records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient care optimization
- Train remotely on new surgical technologies and techniques
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 2+ years of OR experience in a hospital/surgery center
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrumentation
- Ability to work independently during remote preparation phases
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work on-call weekends and evenings
- Basic familiarity with telehealth platforms
- Current BLS certification
