Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields before surgical procedures
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during operations
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Handle surgical equipment and assist with patient positioning
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Assist with patient preparation and transport to/from operating rooms
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical tech experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail and precision in sterile practices
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends
