Responsibilities
- Assist in Surgical Procedures: Provide comprehensive assistance to surgeons during operations, anticipating their needs and ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Maintain Sterile Field: Rigorously adhere to sterilization protocols and maintain a sterile environment within the operating room at all times.
- Equipment Preparation: Prepare operating rooms, arrange sterile drapes, and set up instruments, supplies, and equipment required for surgical procedures.
- Patient Care: Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing staff or surgeon immediately.
- Inventory Management: Ensure the proper functioning and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment, managing inventory levels effectively.
- Documentation: Accurately document procedures, supplies used, and patient conditions in medical records.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must possess current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from the NBSTSA.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology; exceptional attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the surgical team and patients.
