Responsibilities
- Preparation: Set up operating rooms with all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies before surgery.
- Assistance: Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Sterilization: Maintain strict aseptic techniques and ensure all surgical instruments are properly sterilized.
- Patient Care: Monitor patient vital signs and provide post-operative care as directed by the nursing staff.
- Inventory: Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure safety.
- Documentation: Accurately log surgical procedures and patient data into medical records.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or similar certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Licensure: Active BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift patients or equipment.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
