Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterilized and functioning correctly.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict aseptic techniques at all times.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Transcribe physician orders and prepare patients for surgery.
- Ensure the operating room is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist in Surgery (TS-C) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and instrumentation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
