Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and arrange sterile equipment and supplies before surgeries.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
- Monitor operating room environment to ensure adherence to sterilization and safety protocols.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to maintain accurate records.
- Maintain a sterile field and prevent infection during surgical procedures.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in high-stakes environments.
