Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques in all surgical environments
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
- Transport patients and specimens safely between departments
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Familiarity with orthopedic/neurosurgical procedures preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Strong knowledge of sterilization protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Valid Maryland surgical tech license
