Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring a sterile environment.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies, anticipating their needs.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique to prevent infections and ensure patient safety throughout the surgical process.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to maintain accountability for all items.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize all surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately in medical records.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program (CST certification preferred).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- One to three years of experience in a surgical setting (preferred but not mandatory for top candidates).
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology.
- Excellent manual dexterity, stamina, and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for off-site procedures if required).
