Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical equipment in accordance with aseptic technique protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Manage sterile processing and inventory of surgical instruments and implants
- Maintain accurate documentation of surgical counts and equipment usage
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure optimal patient care
- Adhere to OSHA, AORN, and hospital safety regulations
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent operating room experience
- Proficiency in multiple surgical specialties (orthopedic, general, neuro)
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing principles
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to cover various surgical schedules
- Current BLS certification
