Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments pre/post-procedure to ensure patient safety
- Transport patients to/from surgical suites while monitoring vital signs
- Document procedures and maintain accurate medical records
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure efficient workflow
- Manage sterile processing and inventory of surgical supplies
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred
- Minimum 1 year OR experience in surgical specialties
- Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and OSHA protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS certification
