Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile instruments and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and sutures.
- Maintain aseptic technique and a sterile environment to prevent infection.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and surgical data accurately.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including draping and marking incision sites.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other surgical staff.
- Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical equipment and instruments.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional surgical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift equipment as needed.
