Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens between departments
- Inventory and restock surgical supplies
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 1+ years of scrub experience in general surgery
- BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing techniques
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights/weekends
- NY State Surgical Technology license
