Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT systems
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through effective follow-up
- Maintain accurate patient accounts and electronic health records
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation completeness
- Stay updated on healthcare regulations and billing compliance standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with insurance claim resolution and appeals
- Ability to work independently and meet productivity targets
- Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare compliance regulations
