Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care in acute care settings including ICU, ER, and step-down units
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders
- Monitor patient vital signs and document clinical progress accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO, HIPAA, and facility-specific protocols
- Participate in rapid response codes and emergency interventions
- Maintain precise medication reconciliation and patient safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Illinois (or compact license)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- BSN preferred (ADN candidates with 3+ years experience considered)
- Proven ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts including weekends
