Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in diverse clinical settings including hospitals, specialty clinics, and urgent care centers
- Administer medications, treatments, and diagnostic procedures per physician orders
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and regulatory standards
- Educate patients and families on health management and discharge planning
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous process optimization
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the District of Columbia or compact state
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in specialty area (ER, ICU, Telemetry, etc.)
- BSN preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EPIC, Cerner preferred)
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response capabilities
- Excellent communication skills and cultural competency
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
