Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using standardized triage protocols and clinical judgment
- Accurately determine patient acuity levels and prioritize care based on medical urgency
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and support staff regarding patient status
- Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR) with precise documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow through the ED
- Educate patients and families on emergency procedures and wait times
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Florida (or compact license)
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BSN or higher degree preferred
- ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Exceptional communication and decision-making abilities
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred
