Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions using systematic triage protocols to determine urgency and treatment priority
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to develop immediate care plans for emergency cases
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide clear communication to patients and families about wait times, procedures, and care progression
- Multitask across multiple cases during high-volume periods while maintaining clinical accuracy
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nebraska with minimum 2 years emergency room experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required (PALS preferred)
- Proven expertise in rapid assessment and decision-making for acute conditions
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse populations in high-stress environments
- Proficiency in Epic EHR and emergency department information systems
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred
