Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity levels using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocols
- Coordinate with physicians and specialists to prioritize patient care
- Implement triage protocols for pediatric, geriatric, and trauma cases
- Document assessments and interventions in Epic EMR systems
- Provide patient education on treatment pathways and home care
- Collaborate with social services for discharge planning
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- ESI triage certification preferred
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work high-pressure situations with composure
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable
