Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize care in high-volume emergency settings
- Obtain accurate medical histories and vital signs using standardized protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow
- Document assessments and interventions in EMR systems with meticulous attention to detail
- Educate patients and families on emergency procedures and discharge instructions
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, TJC, and OSHA regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental training
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact license)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with equivalent experience considered)
- Strong assessment skills and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication and de-escalation techniques
- Proficiency in Epic or EMR documentation systems
- Ability to work efficiently in high-stress, fast-paced environments
