Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity via telephone triage using standardized protocols and clinical judgment
- Provide accurate medical advice and guidance to patients experiencing urgent/emergent conditions
- Coordinate patient flow and disposition decisions with emergency department physicians
- Document all patient interactions comprehensively in EMR systems
- Educate patients on appropriate care settings (ED, urgent care, primary care)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
- Proficiency in EMR documentation systems
- Ability to make critical decisions under pressure
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience with telephone triage protocols essential
