Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical history via phone triage to determine urgency and appropriate care level
- Provide clear medical guidance to patients and families while maintaining empathetic communication
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate patient flow and resource allocation
- Document patient interactions accurately in Epic EHR systems with meticulous attention to detail
- Manage emergency situations calmly following established protocols and triage protocols
- Stay current with medical guidelines through continuous education and training
Qualifications
- Active California RN license with minimum 3 years clinical experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred
- ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications mandatory
- Proven expertise in emergency department or urgent care triage settings
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency with Epic EHR systems and telehealth platforms
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to de-escalate high-stress situations
