Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity levels using standardized triage protocols within 15 minutes of arrival
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to develop patient care plans
- Oversee emergency department flow and prioritize cases based on clinical urgency
- Document patient assessments and interventions in Epic EHR systems
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to patients/families
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and EDAP standards
- Train new staff on triage procedures and department protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Florida with minimum 2 years ED experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with 5+ years ED experience considered)
- Demonstrated proficiency in rapid patient assessment and critical thinking
- Experience with Epic EHR and emergency department information systems
- Exceptional communication skills during high-pressure situations
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
