Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments in emergency department triage areas using ESI protocols
- Prioritize patient acuity levels while maintaining accurate documentation in EMR systems
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for critical care coordination
- Provide clear patient education on treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Monitor vital signs and initiate emergency interventions as needed
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and trauma response drills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years emergency room or critical care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR systems
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Spanish bilingual skills highly valued
