Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough initial assessments of patient complaints via phone or in-person to determine the appropriate level of care.
- Apply clinical judgment to prioritize patient flow and manage time effectively during high-volume shifts.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to develop and implement care plans.
- Document all patient encounters, assessments, and recommendations accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Provide clear, empathetic patient education regarding symptoms, home care, and medication management.
- Act as a resource for patients and families, answering questions and directing them to the appropriate services.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; 1 year of triage or urgent care experience is highly preferred.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make rapid, accurate decisions under pressure.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in navigating EMR/EHR software systems.
