Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments via phone and in-person to determine medical urgency
- Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize cases and coordinate with emergency services
- Document patient interactions accurately in EMR systems following HIPAA protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care teams to ensure seamless transitions
- Provide clear, compassionate patient education on treatment plans and next steps
- Monitor and track patient flow to optimize department efficiency
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New Mexico (or compact license)
- Minimum 2 years emergency/urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills with diverse populations
- Proficiency in Epic or similar EMR systems
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
