Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocols
- Triage walk-in and ambulance arrivals with clinical precision
- Collaborate with physicians and charge nurses for patient disposition
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and triage documentation
- Provide critical patient education and discharge instructions
- Oversee department flow during peak hours and surge events
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current California RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications
- ESI triage certification preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Epic EMR experience preferred
