Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity using standardized triage protocols and ESI scoring
- Collaborate with physicians to prioritize critical cases and allocate resources
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide clear communication to patients/families regarding wait times and treatment plans
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for patient flow
- Maintain emergency equipment and supplies readiness
- mentor junior staff on triage best practices
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state
- Minimum 3 years Emergency Department experience
- TNCC or ENPC certification required
- ACLS/BLS certifications with current renewal dates
- Proficiency in Epic or similar EMR systems
- Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure with strong critical thinking
- BSN preferred with CEN certification
- Exceptional communication skills in high-stress situations
