Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone and in-person patient assessments using standardized triage protocols
- Make critical decisions regarding patient acuity levels and appropriate care pathways
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate urgent care responses
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to patients and families regarding care plans
- Monitor and track patient flow through emergency departments and urgent care facilities
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the State of Colorado
- Minimum 3 years of emergency or urgent care nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency in telephone triage protocols (e.g., ESI, CTAS)
- Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Experience with Epic or EHR systems
- BSN preferred or equivalent experience
