Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize medical urgency using established triage protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers during critical moments
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
- Collaborate with physicians to facilitate timely patient care transitions
- Provide telephone triage services for patients seeking medical advice
- Maintain calm demeanor during high-pressure emergency situations
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current California RN license with unrestricted practice status
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficient in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills in diverse healthcare settings
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights and weekends
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
