Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical histories to prioritize care urgency using standardized protocols
- Provide telephonic and in-person triage services for diverse patient populations
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to develop appropriate care pathways
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in electronic health records
- Educate patients on care options and home management strategies
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and emergency department protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Nebraska RN license with at least 2 years of emergency/urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Proficient in EHR systems (Epic experience strongly preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse populations
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during high-volume situations
- BSN degree or equivalent experience required
