Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments to determine medical urgency and prioritize care
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare providers
- Accurately document patient information and triage decisions in electronic health records
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to coordinate patient flow through the ED
- Provide education to patients and families about conditions and next steps
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and hospital protocols
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient conditions during triage process
Qualifications
- Current New York State RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years emergency or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications (required)
- BSN degree preferred (ADN accepted with experience)
- Exceptional assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience with electronic health records (EPIC preferred)
