Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments via telehealth, phone, and in-person to determine medical urgency and appropriate care level
- Collaborate with physicians to coordinate emergency department admissions and transfers
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EHR system while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide clear medical instructions to patients and families during high-stress situations
- Triage pediatric and adult patients using standardized protocols and clinical judgment
- Monitor bed capacity and department workflow to optimize patient throughput
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
Qualifications
- Active Arizona RN license with unrestricted privileges
- Minimum 3 years emergency or critical care nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications
- BSN degree preferred; ADN with relevant experience considered
- Exceptional assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Proficiency with Epic EHR and telehealth platforms
- Strong communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
- Ability to maintain composure during high-pressure scenarios
