Responsibilities
- Assess incoming patients using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocols
- Prioritize cases based on acuity and resource availability
- Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and ancillary departments
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Provide initial interventions and stabilize critical patients
- Train triage protocols to new nursing staff
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- BSN degree with current Illinois RN license
- Minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- Expertise in ESI triage methodology
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Experience with Epic EHR systems preferred
- Ability to work in high-stress, fast-paced environments
