Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using standardized triage protocols to determine urgency and prioritize care
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare providers
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate appropriate care pathways
- Monitor patient vitals and clinical status changes during waiting periods
- Provide education to patients regarding home care instructions and follow-up requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness drills
Qualifications
- Current California RN license with unrestricted status
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic or similar EMR systems
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with experience considered)
