As a Triage Nurse, you will serve as the critical link between patients and medical care, assessing symptoms, prioritizing care needs, and ensuring the highest level of patient safety. We value professional growth and offer a supportive work culture with state-of-the-art facilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough initial patient assessments via phone or in-person triage to determine the urgency of medical needs.
- Apply critical thinking and clinical protocols to differentiate between minor ailments and life-threatening emergencies.
- Educate patients on home care instructions, medication management, and preventative health measures.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Manage a high volume of incoming calls while maintaining composure and empathy under pressure.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in emergency nursing, urgent care, or triage nursing.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical information clearly to patients of all backgrounds.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth platforms.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive during high-stress situations.
