Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize care based on medical urgency
- Provide accurate telephone triage for incoming patient inquiries
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate patient flow
- Document patient encounters in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Educate patients on home care instructions and follow-up protocols
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness drills
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication abilities in English and Spanish preferred
- Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in high-volume settings
