Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments: Utilize electronic health records (EHR) to evaluate patient symptoms, medical history, and vital signs to determine the urgency of care.
- Apply clinical decision-making skills: Differentiate between urgent, emergent, and non-urgent conditions to prioritize patient flow effectively.
- Facilitate referrals and care coordination: Communicate seamlessly with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient transitions.
- Document clinical findings accurately: Maintain precise, timely, and thorough documentation in patient charts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide patient education: Educate patients on self-care management, medication adherence, and preventative health measures.
- Manage high-volume call volumes: Handle a dynamic caseload of inbound calls with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Active RN License: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license to practice in the state of Alaska.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of recent experience in a clinical triage or emergency room setting.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable navigating EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and telehealth platforms.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks associated with phone work.
