Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive telephone and virtual triage assessments to determine patient acuity and urgency.
- Utilize evidence-based protocols and clinical decision-making skills to recommend appropriate medical interventions or referrals.
- Document patient interactions accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans.
- Provide education and resources to patients regarding their symptoms and health management.
- Manage high-volume call queues while maintaining a professional and empathetic demeanor.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of acute care or triage nursing experience.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, and clinical guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to de-escalate patient concerns.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
