Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and determine acuity levels in emergency department settings
- Deliver accurate telephone triage for patients seeking medical advice
- Collaborate with physicians to develop appropriate care plans
- Document patient encounters with precision and maintain electronic health records
- Provide clear patient education on home care and follow-up instructions
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient flow
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Texas (or compact license)
- Minimum 2 years emergency/urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication abilities in English and Spanish preferred
- Proficient in EMR systems (Epic experience a plus)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Valid Texas driver's license may be required for travel
