Responsibilities
- Conduct Comprehensive Triage Assessments: Utilize clinical judgment to evaluate patient symptoms via phone and secure channels to determine the urgency of care required.
- Medical Decision Making: Differentiate between urgent, emergent, and non-urgent situations to direct patients to the appropriate care setting (Emergency Room, Urgent Care, or Physician Office).
- Accurate Documentation: Maintain detailed, real-time records of all patient interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Provider Collaboration: Communicate critical findings and patient status updates effectively to physicians and on-call providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions regarding medications, home care, and follow-up appointments to empower patients.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in peer review processes and contribute to the development of triage protocols and best practices.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arizona.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of recent nursing experience, with a strong preference for experience in triage, urgent care, or telehealth.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required. Medical-Surgical or CEN certification is a plus.
- Communication: Superior verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex medical information in a calm, reassuring manner.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable navigating computerized systems and EMR software with high accuracy and speed.
