As a Triage Nurse, you'll leverage your clinical expertise to rapidly assess patient conditions, prioritize care needs, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocol
- Make critical decisions regarding patient acuity and care prioritization
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EHR system
- Provide patient education and discharge instructions
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and state nursing regulations
Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license (or compact state license)
- Minimum 3 years ER or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Proficiency in ESI triage methodology
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Experience with electronic health records (Epic preferred)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
