Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone and in-person triage using advanced diagnostic equipment
- Utilize EHR systems to document patient encounters and prioritize care urgency
- Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate level of care and disposition
- Provide clear, compassionate communication to patients and families during critical moments
- Maintain accurate triage logs and compliance with CMS and state regulations
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas with minimum 2 years emergency or urgent care experience
- BSN degree or equivalent certification (ACLS, TNCC required)
- Expertise in clinical assessment protocols and triage acuity scales
- Proficiency with electronic health records (Epic/EMR preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
