Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical histories to determine urgency and appropriate care pathways
- Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment (including ECG monitors, vital sign trackers, and telehealth tools) for accurate triage decisions
- Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and emergency departments to optimize patient flow
- Maintain precise electronic health records (EHR) documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Provide compassionate guidance to patients and families during high-stress situations
- Participate in continuous training for new medical technologies and triage protocols
Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN license with minimum 2 years emergency or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Expertise in triage protocols (ESI, CTAS) and emergency assessment techniques
- Proficient with medical documentation systems (EPIC, Cerner, or similar)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
