Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone, telehealth, and in-person consultations to determine urgency of care
- Provide clear medical guidance to patients while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate patient flow and resource allocation
- Document all interactions accurately in Epic EHR system within established protocols
- Train and mentor new triage staff on best practices and department workflows
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Indiana with unrestricted status
- Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience (ER/urgent care preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic preferred)
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
