Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine acuity levels and prioritize care needs efficiently.
- Manage the flow of patients within the emergency department to minimize wait times and optimize resource allocation.
- Evaluate symptoms, document medical histories, and initiate appropriate diagnostic tests or treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure seamless communication and continuity of care.
- Educate patients and families regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and preventative health measures.
- Administer medications and perform procedures according to established protocols and state regulations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency nursing or a similar high-volume clinical setting.
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to lift, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems.
