Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive phone triage assessments for incoming patient calls to determine urgency and appropriate level of care.
- Document patient history, symptoms, and care instructions accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate seamless patient transitions.
- Provide clear, empathetic health education and medication instructions to patients and their families.
- Assist in the development and implementation of clinical protocols to improve patient safety and satisfaction.
- Monitor for potential emergencies and initiate appropriate emergency response protocols when necessary.
Qualifications
- Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a clinical triage or call center setting preferred.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to de-escalate sensitive situations and explain complex medical concepts clearly.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
