Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments via phone, portal, and in-person triage to determine acuity levels.
- Make critical clinical decisions regarding patient referrals, admissions, or home care instructions.
- Document patient interactions and medical histories accurately and promptly in electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and specialty departments to facilitate seamless patient flow.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to alleviate anxiety during urgent situations.
- Maintain strict adherence to hospital protocols, HIPAA regulations, and clinical guidelines.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or triage nursing preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar) is a plus.
