As a Triage Nurse, you will serve as the first line of defense for our patients, ensuring that those in critical need receive immediate attention while managing the flow of the department efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine the urgency of medical needs.
- Apply clinical judgment to prioritize patient care and communicate effectively with physicians and advanced practice providers.
- Manage incoming patient calls and walk-ins, providing appropriate medical advice and triage protocols.
- Document all triage encounters accurately and in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to facilitate smooth transitions in patient care.
- Educate patients and families on preventative health measures and home care instructions.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency or critical care nursing preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
